The Bayreuth-based Deep Learning MedTech startup was ranked 26th among the top 50 newly founded startups in Germany by top50startups.de and was even ranked second in the medical technology sector.

Every year, Passion4Business GmbH, in which the F.A.Z. publishing group is a shareholder, determines the top 50 startups. From a group of 850 award-winning companies, the ranking was determined according to objective criteria based on performance in over 170 competitions.

The new Top 50 Startups cohort shows the wealth of ideas with which founders in Germany are building the SMEs of tomorrow,” says René Klein, editor-in-chief and co-founder of Passion4Business GmbH, which is responsible for the Top50Startups.de portal. The trend from last year continues. Seven of the top 50 startups came from the Health & Life Science sector (14 percent). Five each (10 percent) came from the related fields of medicine and biotechnology. This means that a third of all Top 50 startups come from these three sectors alone.
